Microneedling
Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses a handheld device with tiny needles to create controlled micr-injuries in the skin that is less expensive than laser treatment and may work better for those with a darker skin tone.
How it works:
The micro-injuries stimulate the skin to repair itself, producing new collagen and elastin, which keeps skin firm, youthful and smooth.
Microneedling can treat a variety of skin concerns, including:
-Acne scars
-Stretch marks
-Wrinkles and fine lines
-Sun damage
-Hyperpigmentation
-Uneven skin tone and texture
How it's performed
Your Esthetician / provider uses a pen-like tool with sterilized needles to make small skin pricks in the skin. The pinpricks are so small that you probably won't notice them after the procedure.
Recovery
Microneedling is well-tolerated with minimal downtime. You might notice some skin irritation and redness for a few days, but you can usually return to work or school after the procedure. Topical numbing creme makes this procedure a more comfortable and seamless experience.
Results
You might see some visible results almost immediately, but your best results usually won't be visible until 4-6 weeks after the procedure. It's highly recommended to plan for multiple treatments to achieve your desired results.
Individual results will vary per treatment. Repeated monthly treatments are highly recommended. During your consultation, your Esthetician will be able to advise how many treatments will be needed to achieve your specific desired results.
